These terms govern your use of the SkootEco MARC platform (the "Service"), provided by Skoot Eco Group Ltd (company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS]) ("Skoot", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.
1. The Service
The Service lets a business carry out a guided greenhouse-gas assessment and, on payment, generate a carbon report and reduction plan aligned with ISO 14068 and SBTi V2 methodology. The assessment conversation is free; the final report is a paid one-off purchase.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- The Service is for business use; you confirm you are authorised to act for your organisation.
3. What the report is — and is not
This is important. The report is generated from the information you provide and computed using published emission factors (e.g. UK DEFRA) and a documented methodology. Its accuracy depends on the accuracy and completeness of your inputs.
- It is a self-declared measurement and plan produced with software assistance. It is not independent third-party assurance, certification, verification, or a statutory audit, and does not by itself prove compliance with any law, standard, or scheme.
- It is not financial, legal, regulatory, or professional advice. You are responsible for determining and meeting your own compliance obligations, and should take professional advice where needed.
- We do not warrant that the report will be accepted by any regulator, customer, investor, or certification body.
- Any AI-assisted review performed within the Service is an internal quality check, not independent assurance.
4. Payment
- The report price is shown before purchase and charged via our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are in GBP. [State whether prices are inclusive or exclusive of VAT, and your VAT number if registered — VAT NUMBER / VAT TREATMENT.]
- Payment unlocks the report for download and for re-download from your dashboard.
- Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false or misleading data, or use the Service to produce a knowingly inaccurate report;
- attempt to access another organisation's data, or bypass the payment gate;
- reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service;
- resell or misrepresent the report as independent certification.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its methodology, and its software are owned by Skoot. Your organisation's input data and the report generated for you are yours to use for your own business purposes. You grant us the licence needed to process your data to provide the Service.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, and because the report depends on your inputs and is not independent assurance:
- the Service is provided "as is" without implied warranties to the extent permitted by law;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or decisions taken in reliance on a report; and
- our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here affects your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer, where applicable.
8. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Deletion and data retention are covered in our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date shows the current version and continued use constitutes acceptance of material changes we notify you of.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
